My Summer in San Francisco
It’s July and all of California is running into power shortages. I saw on the news last night that we in the Bay Area are using more power than ever and the state is asking people to go easy on power consumption so that we don’t have an energy problem. An energy shortage would, of course, bring about another Enron to save the day, and I doubt we want any of that all over again.
But in San Francisco, it’s freezing outside. It was practically drizzling at lunchtime. That’s what reminded me of the Mark Twain quote.
So, on the western front, there’s not much new here. Kelly and I are still prepping the house for move in. Our plan is to move the last weekend in August. By that time we should have everything in order. Kelly is still researching hard as ever on dogs for us to get. A puppy would be great but there are many young dogs that are in need of a good home, so who knows what we’ll end up with.
I decided against taking my second summer school class. My first one was taught by a militant black lady who focused on the injustices done to black people and not so much on other races. Being the only white male in the class, I felt like she kinda held me responsible for the plight of black people in America. I got a B- and that is just fine. I’ve already washed my hands of this experience and am looking forward to the new scenery at Sac St.
That’s all for now!
Cheers!
