They just don’t make cell phones like they used to!

Just days before my wedding, my cell phone of 3+ years has decided to break. It’s clam shell closed (or opened) for the last time. The plastic was stressed to the point of fracture and only the ribbon cable was holding it together. And that only worked for a little over a week. With my cell phone broken now, I’m faced with the choice of re-upping for two years, or going without a cell phone. Sure I could pay for a new unlocked cell phone on ebay, but that involves spending money, and anyone who knows me knows that I can’t just shell out a hundred bucks on something like a cell phone, only for the sake of having the freedom to possibly leave my cell phone company if I need to. So, like a chump, I’m shopping for a new phone and going to sign the contract for two more years. Kelly just updated her cell phone, so at least I have her old one to use as a temporary one. It sucks, but it works, at least until I can get up the courage to call the the phone company so they can stick it to me.
Have I ever told you how much I hate cell phone companies. Sure I appreciate being called or calling from damn near anywhere. Back in the old days, you just had to guess where someone was, or, call and leave a message and then patiently wait for a return call. But $50 a month for this luxury is penance enough, in my opinion. Now I have to bite the bullet and sign a new 2 year contract.
