We have been together for almost 7 years now, but last night Jeff and I went on our first date . . . since Renee has been born Julie, a friend of mine from school, and her husband Dave offered to watch Renee for us so that we could go out to dinner and a movie. They have a 9 month old son themselves, and Julie takes care of a few other babies a couple times a week, so they have plenty of baby experience. Jeff and I felt totally comfortable leaving her with them.

We went to Kathmandu Kitchen (Indian food) for dinner. It was super yummy!!! Then we went to see “Get Him to the Greek”, which was hilarious We had such a great time, and couldn’t believe how only three and a half hours away from our baby had felt like a mini vacation. Which then made us both feel a little guilty, but not guilty enough to ruin our fun!

Renee did not have such a great time though. She was crying when we left and she was crying when we got back. Julie and Dave said she didn’t cry the whole time we were gone, but I’m sure she probably cried for most of it. She was so tired though, that she fell asleep in the car on the way home and didn’t wake up again until 4am! Of course that was fine with us, we need all the sleep we can get these days!
